Rumour has it the AKAQ Executive will act on the apparent desire of Queensland Clubs to control karting themselves by taking a step further, the initiative of the AGM changing the constitution to provide that the State Karting Council meet once every 4 months instead of once a month.
We understand the
Council meetings will be held AGM style, that is, on weekends and moved around the State
enabling club members to speak for themselves instead of relying on delegates closer to
Brisbane to do whatever it is they have done to manage karting in recent years.
Plans are also afoot
to inform clubs what they are required to do in terms of management and planning now that
they have decided they don’t want a board of directors to lead the way.
