We would like to move that the ‘only’ reed petal to be used in the Leopard class are the genuine IAME fibreglass reed petals with the IAME marking on the reed petals. This will allow the techs to easily identify the reed and are the standard reed petal that comes in the engine (the AKA have a sample at the National Office). To be implemented on the 1st January 2009.
Reason:
To make the class as close to out-of-the-box racing as possible. We feel that this rule is being exploited in its current form. We can show the NKC that there are “soft” “medium” and “hard” types and that there are also qualifying for time trials reed petals available that only last for ‘one-run’ as they are very vulnerable to breaking. These optional reed petals are an un-necessary expense for the karter and by making it a standard will provide better parity and an even playing field.RV Engines Motorsports
